VERTICAL DUPLEX SURFACE GRINDERS

The Amt Centreless Grinders Models AMT - 1, AMT - 2 & AMT - 3, have been designed with the operator of mind. A wide range of work can be ground including plain cylinderical, taper shouldered special form of mutidiameters. The principle units of machine comprise a grinding wheel, a control wheel and a work rest. This arrangement provides a three point support. The machines are indispensible for quantity production and even when machining small lots these are more efficient than plain cylinderical grinding machines due to their high production rates, simple and easy way of operation and insignificant down times.

GRINDING WHEEL HEAD
Special importance has been given to the design of grinding wheel spindle. The spindles of AMT-1 & AMT-2 have been inserted in Taper roller bearings and of AMT - 3, in parallel cylindrical brasses. Drive is by means of V-belts, Every machine is nicely lubricated.
CONTROL WHEEL HEAD
Control wheel gives to the work piece a safe support during grinding & regulates the circumferantial speed and the rate of the feed of the work piece. Its design is very rugged and spindle arrangement is similar to that of grinding wheel. Its spindle and housing ate arranged to swivel with in the range of 5 deg. The angle at which they are set and the speed of the wheel determines, the rate of the feed of work piece of through feed work.
WORK REST
An essential to the centreless grinding principle is the work plate upon which the work is supported while being rotated by the control wheel. Two types of plates are avilable. The cilled cast iron work plate and the inserted blade type. The inserted being ig hardened steel.
